The New York Daily News Endorses David Buchwald
Buchwald continues to build momentum with 10 days to go
WESTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Assemblymember David Buchwald, running for Congress in NY-17, has been endorsed by The New York Daily News Editorial Board. The full editorial can be seen .
“I am thrilled to have the support of The New York Daily News,” said Buchwald. “Throughout my career, I have taken pride in standing up for my constituents -- against Donald Trump and corrupt leaders -- because it was the right thing to do. The Lower Hudson Valley needs an experienced leader who will fight for their values and can hit the ground running on day one -- I am ready to deliver for NY-17.”
“In a field with several strong contenders, the Daily News endorses David Buchwald, an assemblyman a cut above the average Albany lawmaker,” said the Editorial Board. “Regular readers may know Buchwald as the man behind the important transparency push for New York State to release Donald Trump’s state income tax returns, now being challenged in federal court. Buchwald also authored language amending the state Constitution so that crooked politicians will lose their taxpayer-funded pensions. Both those measures passed against the wishes of the bosses.”
The Editorial Board highlights Buchwald’s bills to turn over Trump’s tax returns, strip corrupt public officials of their pensions, and block telemarketers during the pandemic.
Entering the final stretch of the campaign, Buchwald has the largest coalition of support in the race. The Daily News joins over 80 leaders, including Westchester County Executive George Latimer, in endorsing Buchwald.
